When the operation is performed while the animal is standing, a strong assistant must hold the foot, and the needle pushed and passed through the frog rapidly, as by possible struggles, severe injuries of the tissues of the posterior part of the foot might result. EowEL Seton. This form of exutory is of earlier origin than the ordinary tape seton, and consists in a round piece of leather, felt or pasteboard, sometimes perforated in its center, which is deposited in a pouch.
