While the chief difference consists in its having rich pink-colored flowers, there are minor ones as well. The leaves are of a darker green, it is of more compact growth, and it flow- ers when quite young.' It is a common occurrence to find flowers on two or three year old plants. As with the parent form, it is perfectly hardy. It can be planted in any position where a small-sized, bushy tree, of not over twenty to twenty-five feet in height, would be in place.
