In 1895 he securedthe Parkes Gold Medal, and was awarded the Nobel Prizefor Medicine in 1902. He is the discoverer of the life-history of malaria parasites in mosquitos, and much otherknowledge which has proved of enormous value in the cureof malarial diseases and the treatment of malaria infesteddistricts.
