PETER M. SCHWEINHARD, M. Schweinhard, son of George Schwein-hard and Hannah Miller, was born July 14, 1826, inNew Hanover township, Montgomery Co., Pa. Dan-iel Schweinhard, his grandfather, was of Germanparentage, born in Colebrookdale township, BerksCo., Pa., March 17, 1776, and married Polly Herble,a native of Germany, who died in her ninety-thirdyear, long surviving her husband, who deceased in twenty years, and represented his county in the Leg-islature. She died March 21, 1857. Their childrenwere Peter M., Mary Ann (Mrs. Beifsnyder), JohnM., and Sally A. (Mrs. Mowery). Peter M. Schwein-hard, having few advantages of education at home,was sent to a private school at Pottstown, after whichhe engaged in mercantile enterprises in that the age of twenty-five he decided upon the studyof medicine, entered the office of Dr. William j& @J<jU^/^^&r^K^ the sixty-third year of his age. Their children wereGeorge, Gabriel, Henry, and Elizabeth. George Schweinhard, born Jan. 15, 1797, inColebrookdale township, Berks Co., removed toMontgomery County, where his life was devotedto agricultural pursuits. He died May 14, married Hannah Miller, born Aug. 3, 1803, inNew Hanover township, Montgomery Co., daughterof Peter Miller (1759-1833), a native of latter filled the office of justice of the peace Shoener, of Straustown, Berks Co., and graduatedfrom the Pennsylvania Medical College at Philadel-phia in March, 1855. In June of that year he locatedat Palmyra, where he has continued in the practiceof his profession. Dr. Schweinhard married in Feb-ruary, 1850, Matilda E. Spengler, daughter of GeorgeSpengler, who died Aug. 2, 1881, in her fifty-secondyear. Their children were Jennie E. (Mr
