The church was built by the Adorni family in the 15th century, and remains in the private hands of descendants of the builders. The design is unchanged since it was built, copied from the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. It has an unusual octagonal tower topped by a globe and flanked by polygonal turrets.
