The omnibus (to which as I have said we had great difficulty in finding aconductor) is not the best box for those who wish to get a good view of thepantomime. However, Old Drury was crammed, and there was no getting had its advantages in the childrens eyes; for from our situation they were letinto all sorts of stage secrets. They saw the little fairies before they appeared on thestage; they saw King Pippins miniature courtiers crowding behind the wings ; theysaw Miss Rose Lecleecq, as a Queen, pinning_ the dress of Miss Augusta Thom-son, who plays Fortunatus: they saw the grimy carpenters
