A giant fern grows in Roraima´s mountaintop in Canaima National Park in Venezuela, Gran Sabana region. The mesas inspired Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novel, "The Lost World," in which dinosaurs live on an isolated plateau in the Amazon. The park is located between the north border of the Amazon Basin and the Orinoco lands.
