View NW of two standing stones on a narrow terrace above the N shore of Loch Eyre, a small inlet of Loch Snizort Beag, Skye, Scotland, UK. The stones form a alignment NNW-SSE; there used to be a third stone here but its position is unknown. The Gaelic name of Eyre standing stones is usually rendered as Sornaichean Coir Fhinn, relating to local folktales of three giants who used the three stones to support a huge cooking pot large enough to stew a whole deer. There are other versions of the story involving the mythical warrior Finn or Fingall. There are several burial cairns near the stones.
