Judges of the inferior courts shall beappointed by the governor. The amendments were submitted to the peopleat a general election held on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1875. NEW YOEK EXHIBITION, 1853. THE New York Crystal Palace, in which this exhibition was held, wassituated in Reservoir Square, and was designed, by Messrs. Carstensenand Gildemeister. The main building was two stories high, the first storybeing in the form of an octagon, and the second in that of a Greek the centre was a dome 148 feet in height and 100 feet in corners of the octagon were furnished with towers 70 feet high, eachsurmounted by a flag-staff, which added greatly to the lightness of theirappearance. The area of the main building, including that of the galler-ies, Avas 173,000 square feet, and there was an additional building with anarea of 33,000 square feet. The whole structure was composed of 45,000square feet of glass, in panes of 16 by 38 inches, 1200 tons of cast ironand 300 tons of wrought iron. It
