David Gandy discussing his recently restored 1954, Jaguar XK120, with Max Girardo, on the Car Stories Stage, at the 2020 London Classic Car Show

This year’s show treated customers to a brand-new curated feature – Car Stories. The Car Stories stage celebrated nine of the world’s most iconic and interesting cars, all with an incredible story to tell and hosted by motoring expert Max Girardo. Throughout the weekend, the Car Stories Stage welcomed personalities from the industry, including designers, racing drivers and owners, delving into the rich history of these special vehicles with the help of those that know them best. The restored 1954 Jaguar XK120 belonging to British male model and life-long Jaguar enthusiast David Gandy was an exciting addition to the car stories line-up, and visitors were delighted with a surprise visit by the owner himself. Gandy, who popped in to the show joined Chief Engineer Tim Leese to speak about the personal connection he has with the car. With 2,700 hours spent rebuilding the car, it’s been turned into a race-ready machine, with the in-line six-cylinder XK engine now delivering 225bhp. The design and finishing touches were specified by Gandy, featuring a solid black exterior while the interior is finished in Aged Saddle tan leather, with the seats featuring a bespoke lattice design.
