This painting was in the Hall of Fame (Rumeshalle) of the old Arsenal (Zaughaus) of Berlin. It was conceived as part of an iconographic set composed of sculptures and paintings of relevant episodes and personalities of Prussia's military history under the initiative of Emperor Guillermo I in 1877. After the dissolution of Prussia the set was dismantled and part of the goods were destroyed . Arsenal himself was burned during World War II. This fact marks the importance of preservation of the copy of this painting in the form of a printed postcard, which allows the knowledge of the iconographic program of the old Rumeshalle. The Arsenal was rebuilt in the middle of the S. XX and currently houses the German Historical Museum.
