Editor: In the November issue of Railwayand Locomotive Engineering there is adescription and illustration of a veryhandy jig for handling cylinder headswhich should meet with general approvaland adoption wherever practical. Enclosed is a photograph of an appli-ance that has been in use in the Readingroundhouse at Wilmington, Del., forseveral years and has given very satis-factory service in removing air pumps from engines when it is not convenient totake the engine to the engine house whereMutable cranes arc located. It will be readily noted that the appli-ance is simple in construction and mayreadily be adopted to any situation, as itsportability is its prominent feature. If not sufficiently clear to any interestedreader fuller details will be gladly fur-nished on application to the House Foreman. P. & R. R. Roundhouse,Wilmington, Del. Har
