There are diseases to contend with, of course, chief among them being the so-calledfowl-sickness.* but they are not insurmountable, and there are numbers of poultry raisersin the Province who are carrying on their business on intelligent lines and A Flock of Turkeys. HONEY PRODUCTION.—There are about bee-hives in the Province producingover lbs. of honey. Bee-keeping has of late years made considerable progress in Natal,and. with the formation recently of a Natal Bee-Keepers Association, increasing attention isbeing paid to it, and there is a greater realisation abroad of its possibilities. There is a largeSouth African market for honey, which is at present supplied chiefly by oversea producers,but it is probable that ere long Natal will be claiming a considerable share in the cateringfor this branch of trade in South Africa. 412
