Proboscis fully developed ; palpi upturned, the 2nd joint reaching vertex of liead and slenderly scaled, the 3rd long ; frons smooth, with large tutt of hair nbove ; eyes large, round: antennae of male somewhat laminate and almost simple; thorax clothed chiefly with scales, the prothorax with ridge-like crest, the metathorax with spreading crest; tibi:B moderately fringed with hair ; abdomen with dorsal crest at base only. Fore wing typically with the apex produced and acute, the termen excised below apex and excurved at middle, the inner margin with antemedial lobe and scale-tooth ; veins 3 and 5 from near angle of cell ; 6 from upper angle ; 9 from 10 anastomosing with 8 to form the areolo ; 11 from cell. Hind wing with veins 3, 4 from angle of cell ; 5 obsolescent from just below middle of discocellulars ; 6, 7 from upper angle ; 8 anastomosing witii the cell near base only. Sect. I.
