(B.) Philosophy of Education.—The Philosophy of Edu-cation, by Rosenkranz, is the basis for this work and the work in(A) Pedagogy. Consideration is given to the general idea ofeducation and to its special elements. The general idea of educa-tion includes its nature, its form, and its limits. The culture ofbody, intellect and will are treated under the special elements of PAGE TWENTY-EIGHT. , SouthernIllinois State Normal University. education. Dietetics and gymnastics are studied with respect totheir fundamental ideas. The significance of the development ofattention, as a voluntary act, is emphasized. Consideration of the pupilscapacity, and the elements of the act of learning, in connection withthe method of instruction.
