Many grotesque shapes aretaken on by the rocks, and thereis hardly a spring or pool thatdoes not suggest its name by itsform. From the Lake Hotelcan be seen facing skyward, theprofile of a human face so per-fect it has long been calledThe Sleeping Giant. Yellow-stone Lake is a marvel of beauty;the dense forest comes down toits shores, little dots of islandssprinkle its surface, its waters arecrystal clear away into the deep,and under the kiss of the sun theface of the sea takes on a gloryaltogether splendid.
