August 12, 1907 MARK LANE EXPRESS AGRICULTURAL JOURNAL 215. AUCTION SALES. Auctioneers will favour us hy sending in theiradvertisements as early in (he week as /nmsHde. Charges for qvnowhcementt under this htadingSix Shillings an inch. Notes and Jottings. AMONGST the sale reports of sheep referredto in this issue is the result of two combina-tion sales, one held by the South Devon FlockBook Association at Totnes, the other held byMessrs. C. Stride and Son, at Chichester, at bothof which there were expressions of regret heardby some senders at the prices realised by theirown sheep. PHIS is only natural, for one is very liable to1 consider his own sheep so much better thanthose of other people ; but the test of the value ofsheep cannot be better made than by the actualresult secured at the sale. FOR instance, if one refers to the detailed state-ment of the averages realised at the SouthDevon Flock Associations sale, there is abundantevidence to show that all the better rams wereeagerly competed for.
