Judg-ing from the rough earth-works, the dilapidatedhouse, and the smashedwindow-frame in the fore-ground, there has evident-ly been fighting at thispoint. Nearly all of themen have on high-crownedhats, which afforded bet-ter protection against thesun than the forage cap.
