A perennial Balsam, although especially suited for decorative purposes in the hothouse and green- house, has also proved to be most valuable for sum- mer bedding. The plant is of compact growth and almost a perpetual bloomer. The flowers are 1 to [J/2 inches in diameter, from brilliant rose-scarlet to the most delicate pink. Fine Mixed 10 IPOMEA. Tender annuals of rapid growth, with beautiful and varied flowers; for covering old walls, trellises, arbors or stumps of trees they are invaluable; 15 to 20 feet. Grandiflora—(Moonflower.) One of the most showy of the annual climbers. A rapid growing vine, easily reaching a height of 25 to 30 feet during the season. At night and during dull days the plants are covered with large, pure white, fragrant flowers, 5 to 6 inches in diameter 10. HYACINTH BEAN. One of our grandest summer and autumn flower- ing plants. For a background to a flower garden perhaps no plant is so useful. The flowers are as double as a Rose, of many shades of color, from deep yellow, red, purple, to pure white. Plant the seed in June or July in open ground, and when the plants have made five leaves, transplant to three feet apart; the following summer they will bloom; hardy perennial; 3 to 5 feet.
