As a class, Potentillas are of the highest ornamental merit, both in the habit of growth and the foliage of the plant, as well as in their immense blooming qualities. The species are of a bushy habit, and generally bloom in large, broad panicles held well above the foliage, while the named varieties produce flowers in constant succession throughout a long season, and vary in different degrees of semi-double and double forms of flowers, and combine a wide range of color.
