St Georges church is a lively and busy Anglican church in the 'High Church' tradition. Set as a beacon overlooking the sea, the C19 french gothic style Pearson building occupies a commanding position above the beach. The church boasts a justly famous 2-manual TC Lewis organ, virtually unchanged from its original specification. The church has a strong musical tradition with a mixed choir, which has been praised as "one of the best parish church choirs in the country", tackling a varied and challenging repertoire from all periods from Perotin and Josquin to Matthias and Taverner.
