Basilica San Giorgio Maggiore and gondolas in Venice, Italy. A Benedictine church on the island of the same name, Basilica San Giorgio Maggiore was built in the 16th-century. Designed by Andrea Palladio it was built between 1566 and 1610. The architecture is of the classical renaissance style and is finished in white marble.
