Uzbek refugees at a border crossing between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, returning from Uzbekistan, where they had fled following violence between ethnic Uzbeks and Kyrgyz in the southern Kyrguz city of Osh in the Ferghana Valley. Hundreds of people, mainly Uzbeks, were killed in the violence, their houses demolished.
