A wood engraving by Linton after H. Holbein depicting King Henry VIII granting a Royal charter to the Barber-Surgeons Company in the 16th century. The engraving is based on a larger painting by Holbein, which is displayed in the Courtroom of the Barber-Surgeons Hall in Monkwell Street. The scene shows the King seated on a throne with a sword in his hand, while the Barber-Surgeons kneel before him to receive the Charter of Incorporation.
