London's Tower Bridge as it appeared on a box of Tower Bridge brand Safety Matches, Each box contained around 50 matches for lighting fires, cigarettes etc. They were made in Belgium. The dangers of white phosphorus match making led to the development of the "hygienic" or "safety match" in the 19th century using a red phosphorus striking surface on the box, rather than the head of the match being the lighting method. \the collection of match related items is known as Phillumeny or phillumenism.
