Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael Mathews helps to set up a grey water sanitation soakage pit during Preventative Medicine Exercise 2016 at Camp Pendleton, Calif., Nov. 10, 2016. The pit is 5 feet long, 5 feet wide, and 5 feet deep filled with small rocks and pipes to safely transfer waste to the ground. Grey water is any substance that could potentially be harmful to the environment and special precautions are made to keep the exercise’s area safe.
