PANAMA CANAL (Jan. 9, 2018) The future amphibious transport dock ship USS Portland (LPD 27) transits the Panama Canal while the future littoral combat ship USS Omaha (LCS 12) follows astern. Portland is currently transiting from its building site in Pascagoula, Miss. to its new homeport in San Diego.
