PONTA DELGADA, Azores (Oct. 8, 2014) Fire Controlman 3rd Class Fernando Mendoza mans the rails aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Arleigh Burke (DDG 51) as the ship departs Ponta Delgada, Azores after refueling during a short visit. Arleigh Burke, homeported in Norfolk, Va., is conducting naval operations in the 6th Fleet area of operations in support of national security interests in Europe.
