A man made beach Groyne designed to prevent shifting sands from moving off an area of beach and holding the rocks and sands in check slowing erosion.
Man made from wood and concrete this Groyne stretches out toward the lower tide level hopefully preventing the tide from moving rocks and sand away from the beach, now in a slight state of disrepair this barrier can be seen to be working as beach levels are about 1 metre difference in height on either side.
