Parana Province Brazil July 1991: A bow man from Pataxo Hahahai indians shoots only to preserve local tradition. Commercial loggers and cattle ranchers have destroyed the forest animals his people used to hunt. After their land was stolen Pataxo indians went to town to find jobs and adopted Portuguse customs and clothing. Some stick to these but others are determined to re-assert their indian identity returned to their traditional land. They have been campaigning to establish a Pataxo indian reservation for their area and to regain rights over their land. Finally, in 2012, Brazil's supreme Court granted them rights over their area and asked ranchers to leave the area.
