The northern end of the Caledonian Canal at Clachnaharry about 2 miles from the centre of Inverness. The Caledonian Canal runs from the Scottish west coast near Fort William to the Beauly Firth a continuation if the Moray Firth on the NE coast. The canal was completed in 1822.
