A Boston Thanksgiving Story, Once upon a time Boston, andindeed this whole land, was coveredwith trees instead of houses; andthere were no streets, no stores, nochurches, no big buildings of anykind. Yet people lived here—In-dians—who loved to live in thewoods. There were no carpentersamong the Indians, so they did notbuild real houses, but had tents orwigwams. By and by some people like uscame to this land ; but as they camein winter the farmers could not plantanything, the ground being frozen; and so the miller had nowheat to grind into flour, and the baker had no flour to makebread of, and there was very little for the people to eat.
