Manchester Weekend 19th, 20th & 21st April, 2013. Uniformed Ms Lauren Brunt, 18 (MR) a Sealed Knot drummer from Norfolk at the St George's weekend celebrations, a family event held in Albert Square and Piccadilly, an extension of the annual St George Parade and a venture to help celebrate England's Patron Saint, with many activities and performers. Manchester embraces the days when both national festivals and parades aim to bring the city together and provide Mancunians with an event where different national identities are celebrated.

The society of Cavaliers and Roundheads. One of two main civil war reenactment organisations in the UK. History, regimental listing and activities. The Sealed Knot is the oldest and re-enactment society in the UK, a registered educational charity, and the single biggest re-enactment society in Europe. Back in 1968 Brigadier Peter Young and a group of friends, following a garden party in cavalier costume to publicise the launch of Peter Young’s book on the Battle of Edgehill, came up with the idea of forming a period army – an idea that took off and within two years there were more than one thousand members of the Royalist Army. Now, in the 41st year, with the early addition of the army of Parliament and later the Army of Ireland and Scotland, membership has grown to make us the biggest society in Europe.
