Anemone shrimp (Periclimenes brevicarpalis) on its host Tube Anemone (Cerianthid) Bunaken North Sulawesi Indonesia. This shrimp has a symbiotic association with the anemone, gaining protection by hiding amongst its stinging tentacles. This type of symbiosis, where one animal gains and the other is neither helped nor harmed, is known as commensalism. The long tentacles of the Tube Anemone or Cerianthid are used to grab and paralyse prey with their stinging cells or nematocysts. Smaller inner tentacles are used to drag prey into its mouth.
