Goth and Suebi warriors

A warlike bearded Goth in helmet and breastplate, fur coat and breeches, fully armed with sword, lance, bow and arrows. "The Goths were born for war: The used lances, javelins, arrows, swords and massue, sometimes fought on foot but preferred mounted combat. Their pleasures were taking prizes by force, or maintaining their weapons." The Suebi is shown with his distinctive topknot, wearing a breastplate and leg armor, carrying a sword, and with a fur coat over his shoulders. "The Suebi were formed of an alliance of various German peoples and the Lombards. They were distinguished from other German peoples by their hair, which they wore tied in a knot on the head. Handcolored copperplate engraving from Robert von Spalart's "Historical Picture of the Costumes of the Principal People of Antiquity and of the Middle Ages" (1796).
