Various tool chests used by different branches of the military are being replaced with standardized chests. In this photograph from the collection of farrier's chests, there are 18 tools displayed. These tools were part of a farrier's and blacksmith's set that adhered to the guidelines outlined in Note 33 of Page 566 of General Order 39, the War Department of 1915.
