Air Force Staff Sgt. Michael Nyugen, a 35th Maintenance Squadron aircraft structural maintenance journeyman, uses a newly designed paint scraper at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Oct. 4, 2017. Scraping the paint off a single aircraft caused about 50-75 scrapers to break using the older design so the 35th MXS crafted their own. The new scraper can be produced for about 100 dollars and lasts 10 times longer, saving the base $54,000 per year. ( Air Force photo by Airman Xiomara M. Martinez)
