Natural product chemistry research. Samples of plant extracts loaded into a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) machine for analysis. This research is being carried out at the Natural Product Chemistry Institute (ICSN, Institut de Chimie des Substances Naturelles). This is a CNRS research institute in Gif sur Yvette, near Paris, France. It carries out research into discovering and identifying new natural products from plants, marine organisms and micro-organisms, as well as synthesising those with pharmacological uses and investigating biological mechanisms of action. Photographed in 2012.
