Elephant bull, Loxodonta africana

A solitary bull elephant visits the waterhole at Nyamandhlovu Pan in Hwange National Park. Big bulls can take on enough water to enable them to wander for days in the dry interior in search of better quality feeding. Breed herds cannot do this as the limited capacity of calves hinders the range they can forage from water.
