NBR 2-4-0 steam locomotive
NBR is one of four 2-4-0 tender engines that were originally built for the Edinburgh & Glasgow Railway by Beyer Peacock in 1859-61 and a further 3 engines were built in NBR days at Cowlairs in 1865-67. The original 4 survived to be acquired by the NBR in 1865 and were allocated NBR nos 233, 234, 237, 238. The Cowlairs engines were numbered 235, 236 & 239.
