British Railways class 37 Diesel Electric locomotive no 37409 seen near Brundall on the Wherru Lines between Lowestoft and Norwich

The British Rail Class 37 is a diesel-electric locomotive. Also known as the English Electric Type 3, the Class was ordered as part of the British Rail modernisation plan and were build in the early 1960s. The fact that some of the class were still in use in 2019 more than 50 years after introduction was of much interest to railway and transport enthusiasts. Seen here on the Wherry Lines between Lowesoft and Norwich on passenger services prior to the introduction of the new Stadler 755 trains
