Workers hose down tons of Red Potatoes before packing them into baskets at a vegetable market. Thousands of bright Red Potatoes are washed, sorted, and picked ready to be sold throughout Bangladesh.
The Red La Soda spuds are then taken to the country's capital Dhaka for distribution across the country. The pickers, who earn just £ a day for 10-hour shifts, can collect up to ten tonnes of these brilliantly bright potatoes (a staggering 10,000 potatoes) per day, with potatoes being one of the main vegetables grown in the country. Known as "Pakri Aloo" to the locals, these potatoes are commonly used in a variety of different traditional meat and fish curries. Bangladesh produces more than 11 million tonnes of potatoes a year.
