People chatting and browsing the stalls erected for the weekly market in the village of San Pantaleo, a popular tourist destination. The location, high up in granite hills behind the Costa Smeralda, is now an artists haven. It is one of only a few Sardinian villages with a picturesque piazzetta at its heart. A series of narrow streets lead from it. Around these are the village church, croft like houses, several with artists studios, and restaurants. In summer there is a popular Thursday open-air market, which draws tourists from miles around.
