ON the morning of July 2 four of us, in-cluding a botanist, and two other friendsfrom the neighbourhood, all used to the moun-tains, drove from Bangor Station to the lonelycottage at the lower end of Llyn our drive we noticed Valeriana pyrenaicain several spots on the roadside : this plant,introduced within thirty years, has nowthoroughly established itself along the lowervalley of the Ogwen. Clumps of tall Foxglovesgrowing everywhere, and the bright crimsonflowers of Rosa villosa, and on the walls themasses of Sedum anglicum, now covered withflowers of a delicate rosy tint, helped tomake the drive beautiful. From the cottagewe walked along the edge of Llyn Idwall, inwhich Lobelia Dortmanna was just putting upflower-stalks, and Subularia aquatica was visiblein abundance.
