Riga Cathedral (Rigas Doms), in Riga, Latvia at a sunny early morning summer day

Riga Cathedral (Rigas Doms), in Riga, Latvia, is the largest medieval church in the Baltic Countries. Situated at Doma laukums (Cathedral Square), the heart of Vecriga (Riga Old Town), it was built in the 13th century and modified many times showing a mix of Gothic and Romanesque styles. Its simple interior houses a magnificent carved wood pulpit and a huge 19th century 6768-pipe organ. This Lutheran cathedral often holds concerts and houses a museum in one of its wings. The historic center of Riga was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1997.
