It is hulless, beardless, early, and weighs over 60 lbs. to the measured bushel. Yields well on poor land, and enormously on good land. Makes better pork than corn, and the flour made from it is excellent. The straw makes good hay and is of inestimable value to every one who feeds stock. It has produced 60 bushels to the acre, and is one of the best grains to sow for hay we know of. Sow early and you can cut two crops from the same sowing. As fattening feed for hogs it is of extra value (20 hogs fattened with it made a gain of 106 lbs. to the hog in five weeks). The best way is to grind it and feed dry, with clear cold water in another trough for them to drink out of. It grows very quickly and on all kinds of soil. You can sow it after all other grain is sown and harvest it then before wheat and oats are ready. The straw is small, with ver}- heavy leaves; stools wonderfully. For grain sow one bushel to the acre ; for hay one and a half bushels. Lb. 15c, 3 lbs. 40c, post- paid ; peck 40c, bush $ BEARDLESS *« ;—A new and distinct variety. Originated with a most successful Barley grower in South Dakota. It is the earliest barley known, being a week or ten days earlier than any other. "Success" is a six-rowed variety, with heads of unusual length, well packed with solid, plump grains clear to the tips. The straw is of medium height, stiff
