The first all-African American KC-46A Pegasus air crew from the 344th Air Refueling Squadron pose for a photo at McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas, Feb. 16, 2023. The crew traveled to Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina to attend the “Accelerating the Legacy” aviation heritage event to promote diversity and inclusion in the Air Force as well as honor the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen, a pioneering World War II group of African American aviators.
