KOREA STRAIT (April 5, 2020) Avenger-class mine countermeasure ships USS Pioneer (MCM 9) and USS Chief (MCM 14) conduct mine hunting training. Pioneer, Chief and Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron 14, all part of Mine Countermeasures Squadron 7, are operating in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response platform for contingency operations.
