In the following year, on November 18, the sameballoon, with Mr. A. E. Gaudron in command, andcarrying Capt. E. M. Maitland and Mr. C. C. Turner,who is now an aviator, travelled from London toMateki Derevni, Russia, a distance, as the crow flies,of 1117 miles—the British record (see page 67). Weyman n Charles Weymann accomplished a flight of 231 miles, carrying a passenger,from Buc to Clermont Ferrand, in 6 hours, with three stops, on September 7,1910. In 1911 he won the Gordon-Bennett Cup for America, at Eastchurc
