A coastal view to the north from the quay in San Vito Ciento, a town on a stretch of the Adriatic Sea coast in the province of Chieti in the Abruzzo region of central Italy. The wooden post is part of a Trabocchi that was invented in the XVIII century by Jewish families of fishermen on the coast of San Vito. Today the trabocchi were reconstructed and enlarged with respect to the previous originals; most are no longer used for fishing, instead operate as fish restaurants.
